Concrete Floors & Foundation Repair

Cracks that appear in your foundation will worsen over time and will eventually lead to water seepage. Depending on the cause of the cracking and the size of the cracks, a relatively simple fix may be possible. Epoxy crack injection is a method used where epoxy resin is injected into visible cracks to fill them in and bond them back together. This will seal it and stop further water damage. Our technicians will perform an inspection to determine whether this will be a viable option to repair your foundation. Concrete flooring is often prone to cracking and in many cases this is normal and not of a concern. If you have a deteriorating floor, it is a good idea to have an inspection done but if the cracks are less than 1/8”, you most likely do not need to worry. Cracking is more concerning when they become 1/2″ or larger.

Foundation Wall Cracks

Cracks that form in the foundation walls can be due to several reasons. It could be caused from poor construction such as the use of weak concrete and undersized footings. They may also be from concrete shrinkage which is a normal occurrence or could be from soil settlement or excess soil pressure. This can happen when water saturated soil pushes against the foundation walls.

Floor Cracks

Floor cracks can occur from natural settlement of the home, stress, shrinkage and curing or poor construction. Water that is coming up from leaks in the floor can be due to hydrostatic pressure. This is when water builds up underneath the floor creating a large amount of pressure.
